The Town of Chilhowie is proud to offer residents and visitors a welcoming place where dogs can run, play, and socialize at the Christopher Kent Paschal Memorial Dog Park.
Conveniently located along the H.L. Bonham Trail and behind the ARCO Gas Station, the dog park provides a safe, off-leash recreation area for locals and travelers alike. Whether you’re taking a walk on the trail or visiting Chilhowie for the day, the park is the perfect stop to let your four-legged companion stretch their legs, burn off some energy, and enjoy the outdoors.
The park officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 8, 2024, celebrating another exciting addition to Chilhowie’s growing outdoor recreation opportunities. Earlier this year, on May 15, 2026, the park was rededicated as the Christopher Kent Paschal Memorial Dog Park, honoring Corporal Christopher Kent Paschal and his K9 Ben and their lasting legacy within the community.
The dog park is open to the public and is available for everyone to enjoy. To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, we ask that everyone follow the posted park rules.
Dog Park Rules:
- Use the park at your own risk.
- Owners are legally responsible for the behavior of their dog(s) at all times.
- Dogs must be leashed while entering and exiting the park.
- Dog waste must be cleaned up immediately by the owner.
- Owners must remain inside the dog park, actively supervising their dogs, with a leash readily available.
- Dogs must be properly immunized and licensed.
- Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
- Aggressive dogs must be removed from the park immediately.
- Dogs should remain under voice control at all times.
For the safety of all visitors, the following are not permitted inside the dog park:
- Human food
- Dog food or treats
- Glass containers
- Dogs in heat
- Sick dogs
- Aggressive dogs
- Puppies under four months of age
