Notice of Public Information Meeting/Public Comment Period on Proposed Building for Chilhowie Farmer's Market
The Town Council of the Town of Chilhowie will be holding a public information and public comment period to solicit input for a proposed building to house the Chilhowie Farmer's Market at its present location located on the south side of lots 53D3-3A-6 and 53D3-3A-5. The building will be funded all or in part by the United States Department of Agriculture and Commonwealth of Virginia's Tobacco Commission. These lots are owned by the Town of Chilhowie after conveyance from the Smyth County Board of Supervisors with deed restrictions. The lots, in part, are commonly known as Warrior's Park. At the meeting conceptual drawings of building will be presented, along with cost estimates and other information. Citizens will then be given the opportunity to state their views thereon. Following these presentations Council may decide whether to pursue this project in the future. The meeting will be held at the Chilhowie Town Hall in the Community Room at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018.
